Chuck Sugar, a Licensed Professional Counselor from Middle Tennessee, began preparations for his profession long before his official career began. After college, Chuck Sugar – who had originally entered school on a traditional business path – was drawn into the music industry as an artist development specialist and coach. In this capacity, he discovered his giftings for helping performers connect with their fans. This experience revealed to Chuck Sugar much about communication, relationships, and respect.
In 2003, Chuck Sugar earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Nashville’s Trevecca Nazarene University. Since then, he has worked as a professional counselor, first for Christian-based Restore Ministries, then in private practice. His office, set in the heart of Brentwood, just south of Nashville, opened its doors in 2007. Chuck Sugar is recognized as one of the leading therapists in the area, guiding clients through marriage conflicts, depression, and loss.
Chuck Sugar has a deep passion for families on the brink of failure. He helps couples work through marital conflicts as well as affair recovery. In therapy, Chuck Sugar does more than remind couples of how they were once in love. He focuses on communication, empathy, trust, and forgiveness so that they continue to fall in love, over and again. Another method of recovery on which Chuck Sugar focuses is resentment dissolution; he believes that a relationship can be restored through learning to communicate effectively and peacefully, while extending humility and compassion for one another.
In his spare time, Chuck Sugar enjoys music. He is a former traveling musician who has recorded with the Christopher Cross Band and Chris Geppert. In addition to his Master’s degree in counselling, Chuck Sugar holds a Bachelor’s in General Business from The University of Tennessee Knoxville. He resides in the Nashville area and enjoys the ambiance of Music City.
